Now’s the time. Volunteer.

The end of summer always brings change – new schools, activities and family schedules. As you settle into your new routines, include time for volunteering! Here are a few family-friendly opportunities that are easy and fun – many of which can be done from your own home.

Donate School Supplies
Even though school has started, many organizations are still accepting school supplies! Fill a backpack or two with markers, crayons, pencils, notebooks, folders – everything helps make the back-to-school experience worry-free and fun.
Find a drop-off site near you.
Create Welcome Home Kits
Collect items for “Welcome Home Kits” for people served by
RESOURCE. The kits provide personal hygiene products that many people don’t have when transitioning to their own homes. Kits should include: a bar of soap, washcloth, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, comb/brush, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, etc.
Get Crafty
Lots of things you’re already doing can be turned into volunteer projects. Make bookmarks and donate them to local libraries or youth programs. Or knit scarves or hats and donate them to shelters or healthcare programs.
