3M:  “Return on Investment for Non Profits”

 In the current economic climate, allocating your budgeted time and resources effectively can mean the difference between a break even budget and a deficit.  In addition, sponsors and donors want to know that their dollars are being used efficiently, and will create the maximum impact on the community.  Knowing how to calculate Return on Investment or ROI on any type of project will enable you to prioritize projects and utilize your resources to achieve the greatest results.    

Cummins:  “Levels of Engagement”

How do you align your organization’s resources with your strategies to engage funders, supporters and volunteers?  Understanding levels of engagement allow an organization to determine how to best develop partnerships; either at an engagement, collaboration, or sustainable impact level.  Levels of engagement allow a nonprofit to more effectively engage volunteers and employees and increases organizational capacity and efficiencies.  To better utilize, benefit, and strengthen relationships with funders, supporters and volunteers it is important to understand the current state and potential engagement, along with the resources needed to dedicate to each.

Star Tribune Radius:  “Beginning Social Media for Non-Profits”

This session will cover:

  • Using social media channels to touch your audience of current and prospective donors
  • How social media compliments and reinforces your other communication channels
  • Practical social media applications for your fundraising efforts
  • How to implement your social media strategy with limited resources

Star Tribune Radius:  “Media Relations 101”

This session will cover:

  • How to be successful pitching your story to editors and reporters
  • What editors and reporters are looking for
  • Understanding what is newsworthy
  • How to communicate effectively with editors and reporters

In addition to workshops, you will have time to consult one-on-one or in small groups with experts from local nonprofits. Consultation topics will include:

Greater Twin Cities United Way:  “From Conceptual to Concrete: Framing Desired Outcomes from Skills Based Projects”

The more specific a project proposal, the more helpful it is to skills based volunteers who are considering working with your organization. We will discuss the components to defining a skills based project and how to organize them. Caring Connection, the volunteer engagement program of Greater Twin Cities United Way, looks forward to meeting with their community partners to discuss this topic.

Learn about this on-line resource and the tools available to help engage skilled volunteers in your organization.
