Hiya Summer Cats!
Since the weather has been so nice yet so hot here in the MidWest, I’ve been lending a hand indoors as of late. A few weeks ago HOTC teamed up with Bridging, Inc and 400 Target Interns to assemble 3 truckloads of Target donated furniture. Bridging, Inc is an awesome organization that provides families and individuals who are transitioning out of homelessness and poverty with a one-time gift of quality furniture and households goods.
It was an early 7am start for the HOTC staff! Thankfully the MPLS Convention Center has a coffee shop!
” Small house roast to go please!”
Before the wave of interns arrived, we set up at least 30 work stations stocked with tools and un-assembled boxes of dressers, night stands, and book shelves all set for the interns to get to work!
I was helping I swear!!
Once the doors opened and the 400+ red & white shirts stormed in, everyone got down to business!
It’s so incredible how all it takes is a little bit of time and a lot of muscle power to complete such a impactful project! In a little under 4 hours ,over 100 pieces of furniture were completed and shipped off to the Bridging,Inc warehouse where they will definitely be put to good use!
HUGE Thank You to Target, Target Interns, Bridging Inc, HOTC Staff, and the MPLS Convention Center for making this project possible. It was a wonderful way to spend a Friday morning giving back to the community!
If YOU find yourself to be the ‘handy’ type and would enjoy donating your time & skills helping to assemble furniture; check out Bridging’s website. Volunteering in their warehouse could be a perfect fit for you!
