HELLO WORLD! My name is Lenny “Lend-a-Hand” and I am the newest member of the HandsOn Twin Cities team! I CAN’T WAIT to share all of the stories from my adventures with you!
As you may know, I made my formal debut at the 6th Annual HandsOn Twin Cities Volunteer Expo at Mall of America last month, and boy, was it a FUN time! I got to do so many things…
First, I visited the HandsOn Twin Cities Get HandsOn booth and signed up for the Get HandsOn Challenge! I’m excited to be a part of their national volunteer mobilization campaign! (Who wouldn’t, right?) They even gave me a FREE water bottle! Woohoo!
Then I made my way around the ENTIRE first floor of the Mall of America and visited some of the great nonprofits that were there. That place is HUGE (especially to a first-timer like me)!

I was excited to see all of the volunteer opportunities from the Wildcat Sanctuary! But I was sure glad that they only had pictures of the Wildcats…
Another nonprofit that I visited was Can do Canines! Now, those were live animals that I was excited to see…minus the drool
In between my visits with the nonprofits, I did some ‘speed volunteering’ of course!
I was really great at making cranes for the Brain Injury Association of Minnesota to raise awareness of the 10,000 Minnesotans living with brain injuries.
I also stopped by the Microsoft store to “Experience the Possibilities,” which were ENDLESS, might I add! After doing some more speed volunteering of decorating lunch bags and birthday cards for families served by Meals on Wheels and Doing Good Together, I played a little game of XBOX Kinect Dance Central and got to do some serious movin’ and groovin’!
Then I headed back to the Best Buy Rotunda…
And GUESS WHAT?!!
I got to meet Governor Mark Dayton! What a ‘fella! Isn’t this a great picture of him and I with HOTC staff JoAnn and Liz?
Whew! What a day that was, I’m getting tired just thinking about it…
Until next time!
-Lenny

Yay! Thanks for the shout out for The Wildcat Sanctuary. We LOVE working with you guys and had a hugely successful day at the MOA.
Keep up the great work!
You’re welcome and glad you enjoyed the Expo!
Thanks for helping get the word out about The Wildcat Sanctuary. I love the organization!! They do amazing work that many may know nothing about. The animals that are lucky enough to be rescued by them have the best quality of life in captivity imaginable. They work tirelessly and can use all the volunteers and help and donations they can possibly get in order to continue the fabulous work they do. So happy to see that HOTC provided an opportunity to help them
